On April 24, Justin Perry Blair was sentenced for his conviction in an October 2022 shooting in Troy.
Blair was convicted back in January 2024 for discharging a firearm into an occupied building, which occurred when Blair and a co-defendant shot into a dwelling on the 400 Block of South Brundidge Street in Troy on Oct. 16, 2022.
Blair was sentenced to 15 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections with the sentence being split. Blair will serve a 2.5-year sentence in prison and the rest of the sentence being suspended. Blair will also have to serve 60 months of probation upon release from prison.
“This outcome should serve as a reminder to those who wish to commit crimes involving guns,” 12th District Judicial Circuit District Attorney James Tarbox said. “Our office will seek to prosecute you, and if you are convicted we will seek to have the judge send you to prison.”
Senior Assistant District Attorney Jon Folmar represented the State of Alabama at the sentencing hearing and the hearing was held before Judge Jeff Kelley in the Pike County Circuit Court.
