Robert Corey Lee has been charged with multiple crimes after leading law enforcement officers on a high speed chase that ended when Lee crashed into a building on Main Street in Brundidge.

Pike County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Lt. Tommy Price said the chase began in Troy around 4:30 p.m. on April 21 with county deputies joining in the pursuit. The chase ended in Brundidge when Lee’s vehicle crashed into a store on Main Street in Brundidge. Lee was airlifted to a Montgomery hospital for treatment.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said Lee, 34, of Birmingham, grew up in the Pike County area and was known to law enforcement. Thomas said 404 grams of methamphetamine, 4 grams of Oxycodone, 30 grams of marijuana, two syringes and a 9mm pistol were found in Lee’s vehicle.

Thomas said Lee had been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking opioids, first-degree possession of marijuana, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm and felony attempting to elude law enforcement officers. Thomas said Lee had outstanding warrants with the Irondale Police Department, Homewood Police Department and Andalusia Police Department. He remains in the Pike County Jail on a $535,000 bond.
