Pike Lib falls to Bayshore in game three of state quarterfinals

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots saw their 2024 season come to an end on Friday with a 6-3 loss to the Bayshore Christian Eagles in game three of the Class 2A State Baseball Quarterfinals.
Pike jumped out to a 3-2 lead in the first inning but the Eagles scored four unanswered runs to take a 6-3 lead going into the sixth inning. PLAS was never able to get back into scoring position as Bayshore held on for the series win.
Cole Garrott led Pike at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Will Rice pitched five innings and struck out nine batters, while giving up five hits and two earned runs. Garrott pitched the final two innings and gave up one hit and no runs.
For Bayshore, Jace Jones went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Brooks Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Braden Preus pitched a complete game, striking out four and giving up six hits and no earned runs.
Bayshore advances to the state semifinals against Ariton next week.
