On Monday, the Sun Belt Conference announced that Troy University will be the host school for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament next season.

The 2025 tournament will be the fifth time in school history that the Troy Softball Complex has played host to the tournament with the last time coming in 2021. The tournament will take place May 7 through May 10, 2025.

“Troy has a long history hosting the Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship, and we look forward to once again welcoming our conference partners to our beautiful campus and our amazing Troy Softball Complex in 2025,” Troy Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. “On behalf of Chancellor (Jack) Hawkins, our university administration and athletics department, we would like to thank Commissioner Gill and the Sun Belt Conference for entrusting Troy University with hosting this prestigious event, and we will work tirelessly to put on another first-class event.”

Troy has never won a Sun Belt Championship during the school’s softball history. Louisiana has won 18 of the 23 conference crowns. Of the four previous times Troy hosted the Sun Belt Tournament, Louisiana won three and South Alabama won the other.

Troy is scheduled to face Coastal Carolina in the second round of the 2024 Sun Belt Tournament in San Marcos, Texas later this week.
