A total of six Charles Henderson High School athletes signed college letters-of-intent at a ceremony on May 8.

The athletes signing scholarships included Brandon Givens, Jabori Seymore, Sterling Sharp, CL Siler, Jalen Suddith and Bray Jones. Givens, Seymore, Sharp, Siler and Suddith signed to play college football, while Jones signed to play college basketball.

Givens signed to play football at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia. Givens played linebacker for the Trojans, earning 76 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, one interception and two pass breakups this past season. He also tallied 67 tackles, five tackles-for-loss and four sacks in 2023.

Suddith will play for Virginia University of Lynchburg. Suddith earned All-Messenger honors this season after netting 58 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, three sacks and a fumble recovery. He also earned 68 tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss, eight sacks and a fumble recovery in 2023. He played defensive end and linebacker for CHHS.

Siler will play football at Anderson University in Indiana. Siler tallied 28 tackles, one sack and two interceptions at cornerback for the Trojans. Siler also earned an eighth place finish in the 110-meter hurdles at the AHSAA Class 5A State Track Meet this week.

Seymore will play his college football at Northeast Mississippi Community College. From his defensive tackle position, Seymore tallied 43 tackles, six tackles-for-loss and one sack in 2023.

Sharp originally signed to play college football at Birmingham Southern before the school announced it’s closure a short time after. Sharp will now play his college career at LaGrange College in Georgia. Sharp was a member of the Trojan offensive line that paved the way more than 1,700 yards on the ground and nearly 4,000 total yards of offense this past season.

Jones was a key member of the Charles Henderson basketball team this past season as well as the school’s state runner-up finish the previous season. Jones will play college basketball just down the road with Enterprise State Community College. Jones averaged 14 points, three assists, five rebounds and two steals per game this past season and earned the team’s Best Defensive Player Award.
