In April, W Walnut Cookie Co. partnered with Common Ground Troy to donate part of the proceeds from its Bright Future Lemonberry cookie for the entire month.
According to a release from W Walnut Cookie Co. and Troy Common Ground, 405 of the cookies were sold in April. For each cookie sold, W Walnut Cookie Co. donated $1 to Common Ground Troy’s summer program in an effort to support their mission to engage, encourage and develop the youth of Troy. Those 405 cookies sold will allow Common Ground Troy to purchase 40 new backpacks for students this upcoming school year.
“It’s been heartwarming to see the community come together to support such a worthy cause,” W Walnut Cookie Co. owner Kay Grenon said. “We believe in investing in our youth, and this partnership with Common Ground Troy has allowed us to do just that. Thank you to everyone who purchased a cookie and helped make a difference.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Common Ground Troy for their dedication to Troy’s youth and for the opportunity to collaborate on this meaningful project. Together, we have shown that small actions can lead to significant change, and we look forward to continuing to support our community in the future.”
