Residents and representative of the House of Hope in Brundidge were on the street corners in downtown Troy Friday morning with flowers for Mother’s Day.

For a donation, large or small, the donor received a bouquet of fresh flowers to take home for a loved one on Mother’s Day.

Melena Dickey, House of Hope supervisor, said fresh flowers are a way to express love and caring on a day just for that purpose.

The bouquets were also a way for others to know there is always hope when there is trust in God.

The House of Hope in Brundidge is a place of help and safe refuge for women with addictions who want to find their way to the place they want to be.

Dickey said at this time there are five ladies at House of Hope on South Main Street in downtown Brundidge.

All residents attend the Church of Highlands in Troy and follow a planned regiment during the day that includes a morning devotional, Bible study and programs that will facilitate recovery from different addictions.

Dickey said recovery from addictions is not easy but, for those who truly desire to lead a different life, recovery is attainable.

She is testimony to that.
