On Tuesday, Troy University Athletics announced a home-and-home series with the University of Buffalo that will see the two sides play in 2025 and 2027.
This series will replace a previously announced home-and-home series with UMass, who recently joined the Mid-American Conference beginning in the 2025 season. Troy will travel to play Buffalo on the road in 2025, while Buffalo will head to Troy for the 2027 matchup.
Troy and Buffalo have met just once in the two schools’ histories, the 2018 Dollar General Bowl in Mobile that saw the Trojans earn a 42-32 win.
The 2025 game completes Troy’s out-of-conference schedule, which will also feature home games against Memphis and Nicholls State and a road game with Clemson. It also brings Troy’s announced 2027 out-of-conference schedule to three with home games against Mississippi State and Southeastern Louisiana. The Southeast Louisiana matchup was announced on Monday.
The Trojans continue to fill out their future out-of-conference schedules. Troy will play Nevada, Memphis, Iowa and Florida A&M in non-conference games in 2024. The Trojans have already filled out three non-conference games in 2026 and 2027. In 2026, Troy will host Sam Houston State and travel to Mississippi State and Missouri. Troy also has 2028 matchups with North Carolina State, UAB and Clemson announced.
