National Salvation Army Week 2024 will conclude here in Pike County on Saturday, May 19, with a “blowout sale” at the Pike County Salvation Army Service Center on South Brundidge Street.
Donna Kidd, manager and director of the Service Center in Troy, said foot traffic has been steady throughout the week and Friday and Saturday are expected to be very busy as shoppers take advantage of super sale prices at the service center on everything except curios and home decorator items.
The Thrift Store will have something for everyone and at below affordable prices, Kidd said.
“This week has been a busy one at the service center and we greatly appreciate the local support that the Pike County Salvation Army receives throughout the year.
“The support this week, National Salvation Army Week, has been very meaningful because every sale that is made is an opportunity to help those in need in our community and it’s a show of support for the Salvation Army across the country.”
On behalf of the Pike County Salvation Army, Kidd thanked all Pike Countians for their continual support throughout the year.
“So, we invited the community to a hotdog lunch at the service center on Thursday,” Kidd said. “We enjoyed having so many people drop by to shop and enjoy a hotdog with us. And, we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity of National Salvation Army Week to recognize and thank the many who support our local Salvation Army throughout the year so we can do more for more people in need here in Pike County.”
