Pike BOE recognizes Teacher Leadership Academy participants

The Pike County Board of Education met in regular session on May 21. There being no old business, the board’s new business included the recognition of Teacher Leadership Academy and Parents, Partners and Pike County Schools participants. The board also approved the request for six students to travel to and attend the NFA 6-Day deployment. Funding to be a Lockheed Martin Grant.
In personnel business, the board:
•Approved Superintendent Mark Bazell’s end of the personnel recommendations.
•Accepted the resignation of Alex Obrien, kindergarten teacher at Goshen Elementary School.
•Approved the employment of Callie Sawyer, elementary school teacher at Goshen Elementary School.
•Approved the request to employ Jakiya Williams, elementary school teacher at Goshen Elementary.
•All new hires are contingent on certification or a verified pathway to certification and background checks.
