“We’re just looking to bring the community out for a day of fun and information,” Phi Beta Sigma member Earl Clark said. “We know there’s still a lot of people that don’t know about the holiday, or the significance of it, and we just want to get people together and enjoy the day, enjoy each other and learn.”

The panel discussion will feature discussion about the state of Black America and what Juneteenth means along with health issues that affect the black community, especially prostate cancer. There will also be door prizes and kids activities at the celebration. The cost of admission is free.

A number of other Greek organizations and sororities are taking part in the event, including Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha and Alpha Phi Alpha.
