Former Troy Trojan Derrick Ansley – now an assistant coach with the Green Bay Packers – will be hosting a youth football camp in Tallassee on June 29.

Ansley is a native of Tallassee, where he was an All-State athlete before signing with Troy. Ansley finished his Troy career tied for the second-most interceptions in school history. In 2003, Ansley intercepted nine passes, which ranked third in the entire country. He earned All-Sun Belt honors as a senior, Troy’s first as a part of the Sun Belt.

Ansley was an All-Sun Belt defensive back at Troy.

Following his stellar college career, Ansley jumped into the coaching profession as a defensive backs coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery from 2005 until 2009. Ansley went on to become one of the most decorated assistant coaches in college football for a number of years. He served as defensive backs coach at Tennessee and Kentucky before becoming Nick Saban’s defensive backs coach at Alabama in 2016 and 2017, helping the Crimson Tide to a National Championship in 2017.

During his college coaching career, Ansley coached nearly two dozen NFL Draft Picks, including six first rounders.
