Juneteenth celebration Saturday in Brundidge

Citizens of Brundidge will celebrate Juneteenth on Saturday at the Bass House on Main Street from noon until 4 p.m.
Everyone is invited to be a part of this celebration, said Brundidge Mayor Isabell Boyd.
“We have an amazing lineup of speakers and singers all afternoon long,” Boyd said. “So, we invite everyone to come and stay throughout this special celebration.”
The Juneteenth Celebration will include inspiring messages in word and song, Boyd said.
Topics of inspiration will include the history of the celebration by the Rev. Samuel Valentine; Willie Moultry’s presentation topic will be “Having Faith That One Day We’ll be Free.”
Jerry Thomas, Jr. will highlight the history of Jubilee Day.
Thomas Shipman will put into words: “What freedom means to us” and Jerry Thomas, Jr. will share his thoughts on Jubilee Day.
Pastor Louis Beacham will speak on the power of voting. and the Rev. Carl Hollis’ topic will be a reminder that “We Have Come This Far by Faith.”
Special music will be by the New Hope Independent Church of Christ and Sheila Jackson and friends.
