Began your Independence Day celebration Saturday in Brundidge

The Brundidge Independence Day Parade is set for Saturday, June 29. Everyone is invited to get the Fourth of July celebration off to a patriotic red, white and blue beginning along Main Street in downtown Brundidge. Parade time is 1 p.m.
The parade line-up will be at 12 noon on Veterans Boulevard on the north side of town. Duck Sneed will be the grand marshal for the Brundidge Independence Day Parade.
Laterah Baxter is the parade organizer for the sponsoring Brundidge Business Association.
There is no registration requirement to enter the parade; just come, get in line and show your love of hometown and country or show your patriotism as cheering spectators.
Baxter said the parade will follow a Main Street route and the downtown merchants have been encouraged to be open before and after the parade to provide shopping opportunities.

The fireworks display will be at nightfall and can best be viewed from the Pike County High School gymnasium parking lot. The fireworks display can also be viewed from various locations south of the downtown area.
Ramage Park will be closed to the public as a safety precaution.
The Brundidge Independence Day Parade is sponsored annually by the City of Brundidge and the Brundidge Business Association. The City of Brundidge is the sponsor of the Fourth of July fireworks display.
