Troy’s Brooks Bryan shines for Team USA

Incoming Troy junior catcher Brooks Bryan helped Team USA to a sweep over Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) in the International Friendship Series last week.  

Bryan belted a grand slam home run to help Team USA to a 6-0 win on July 3, capping off a complete sweep for the Americans. Bryan is one of a number of college baseball stars competed as a part of the U.S. National Collegiate Baseball team in the summer series. Bryan’s college coach, Skylar Meade, is also serving as pitching coach for Team USA.  

Bryan went 1-for-4 in the final game of the series with a grand slam home run, four RBIs and one run.

In five games, Bryan earned a .214 batting average with a double, a home run, three runs and six RBIs. Bryan also showed off his skills on the defensive end, earning a perfect fielding percentage with 34 put outs, four assists and a double play. He also caught a runner trying to steal.
