The Pike County Schools Board of Education met July 15 to take care of old and new business. There being no old business the board considered new business which including approving the financial statements for June 2914.
The board also approved the request for the following employees to travel to and attend the CTE Summer Conference July 23-26, 2024 in Mobile: Harold Jones, Gina Maxwell, Ronnie McCollough, Aaron Young, Cody Eiland, Joyce Allen, Vanessa Maulden, Maranda Knight, Christian Stanley, Tyler Martin, Teresa Webb. Funding – Perkins.
The board also approved or denied student transfer request.
In personnel action, the board:
• Accepted the resignation of Cayla Bishop, kindergarten, Pike County Elementary School.
*Accepted the resignation of Angelina Harris, Child Nutrition Program, Goshen Elementary School.
•Accepted the resignation of Kimberly Hatch, Special Education, aide, Pike County Elementary School. •Accepted the resignation of Dedrick Sumpter, ACCESS, Pike County High School
•Accept resignation of Sheryl Shannon, sixth grade teacher PCES.
• Approved the request to employ Crystal Jensen, bus Driver.
•Approved the request to employ Kristen Flood, bus driver.
• Approve the request to employ Thomas Flowers, Social Science (History), PCHS.
• Approved the request to employ Amy Womble, sixth grade teaccher GES.
•Approved request to employ Shalai Blair, CNP worker, GES.
•Approved the request to employ Dora Hicks, school counselor, GES.
•Approved the request to transfer Michelle Caffie from teacher GES to Instructional /SPED Aide, PCES. •Approved the request to reassign Cheley Scott, physical education, aide, PCES to science teacher, PCHS.
•Approved the request to employ Samantha Fortune, SPED aide GHS
•Approved the request to employ LaBrian Stewart, ACCESS, PCHS.
•Approved the request to employ Peighton Jolley, kindergarten teacher, PCES.
•Approved the request to employ Stephen Tsukuda, fourth grade teacher at PCES.
•Approved the request to reassign Rachel Everett from fourth grade teacher, to sixth grade teacher, PCES.
