The time is ticking toward fall and the harvest season. And, what would harvest season be with food on the family table and clothes on our backs?

And, we have farmers to thank and right here in Pike County as well as all across America.

Abby Peters, Pike County Extension coordinator, said it’s time to nominate members of our farming community and farm related businesses for the annual Farm-City Awards that are presented at the Farm City Banquet in November.

Peters said the nomination forms are not complicated so thank a farmer by nominating him/her for a 2023 Pike County Farm-City Award.

The categories for nomination are: Beef, Conservation, Poultry, Row Crop, Service to Agriculture, Timber and Young Farmer, Specialty, Timber and Young Farmer.

Nomination forms are available at the Pike County Extension Office at 306, South Three Notch Street in Troy.
