The 2024 Pike County Community Resource Fair on Tuesday night at the Troy Recreation Center was a huge success.
The free, family-friendly event was an opportunity to meet community agencies and partners.
“We had over 50 vendors and more than 400 Pike County citizens attend the community resource fair,” said Abby Peters, Pike County Extension coordinator.”
The event was sponsored by the Pike County Extension Office, Pike County Chamber of Commerce, Troy Parks and Recreation, Troy Regional Medical Center, Pike County DHR, and Southeast Alabama Works.
Peters said the Community Resource Fair was a kickoff to the ‘Get Involved Pike County’s’ mission to connect resources in Pike County for all citizens in six key areas: Government programs, Health and Wellness, Housing and Finance, Education and Business, Churches and Non-Profits, and Service Organizations.
“We are currently working on building a resource database to be used for a website,” Peters said. “If any organization is interested in being listed on our website, please contact the Pike County Extension Office at 334-566-0985 or email abbyp@auburn.edu.”
The 2024 Pike County Community Resource Fair included school supplies, music and food, door prizes, Kidzone, T-Roy Plus Mascot and characters Paw Patrol, Woody and Disney Princesses. School supplies were given out while the supply lasted.
