Troy Post 70 remains undefeated in Southeast Regional

After a Thursday weather delay, Troy Post 70 got back to play on Friday in the American Legion Southeast Regional Baseball Tournament with a 6-2 win over Wayne Post 11(North Carolina).
Future Troy Trojan Brady Richardson (Enterprise) earned a double and a run in the win, while Cody Walsh (Florala) also earned a double and a run. Haze McCorkel (Dothan), Troy native Payne Jefcoat (Hatfield), Evan Taylor (Headland) and Matt Snell (Providence Christian) scored one run each.
Walsh earned the save, striking out a pair of batters and giving up three hits and no runs in two innings on the mound. Cole Hewitt (Dothan) earned the win, pitching five innings and fanned two batters, while giving up two hits and two earned runs.
Thus far in the Southeast Regional, Troy has outscored its opponents 10-2. Due to weather cancelling all games from Thursday, Troy will play a doubleheader today. Tonight Post 70 will face Virginia in the third round at 6:15pm CST. The winner of the Southeast Regional advances to the American Legion 19U World Series in Shelby, North Carolina.
