TPD investigating Sunday shooting

The Troy Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place on Aster Avenue on Sunday, Aug. 11, according to a news release from Troy Police Chief Randall Barr.
According to the release, TPD responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 Block of Aster Avenue on Aug. 11, at 2:43 a.m. Barr said that that officers located three individuals at the scene with gunshot wounds. Two of those victims were transported to Troy Regional Medical Center and later transferred by “air ambulance” to a hospital in Montgomery for further treatment.
The third shooting victim received a “graze wound” and was treated by medical personnel at the scene of the incident. During TPD’s initial investigation, officers discovered several apartment buildings and cars that had been struck by gunfire, according to the release.
TPD is currently investigating the incident. According to TPD, there were multiple people in the area when the shooting occurred. TPD is asking anyone with information or video of the incident that may help identify the suspects for the crime to contact TPD.
