Former Trojan Jody Singleton inducted into Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame

This past weekend, former Troy University baseball star Jody Singleton was inducted as a part of the 30th class of the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame.
Singleton was a standout baseball player at Headland High School before starting his college career at Wallace Community College in Dothan and then playing for the Trojans in the 1990 and 1991 seasons. Singleton held a career .344 batting average with 96 hits, 21 doubles, one triple, 22 home runs and 77 RBIs as a Trojan.
As a senior, Singleton Trojan boasted a .348 batting average and earned All-Gulf South and All-Region honors along with being the first Troy player in school history to be named tot eh CoSIDA-GTE Academic Team.
Singleton was a member of legendary head coach Chase Riddle’s final season at Troy in 1990, when the Trojans went 51-10 along with helping Troy win the Gulf South East Division Championship in 1991.
Singleton’s father, Sherrill Singleton, is also a member of the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame.
