Recently, the Troy Trojans announced Goose Crowder as the team’s starting quarterback and ahead of this Saturday’s season opener the team released its full depth chart on Monday.

As expected Crowder is listed as No. 1 on the depth chart quarterback with both Brantley native Tucker Kilcrease and Gardner-Webb transfer Matthew Caldwell listed at No. 2. East Carolina transfer Gerald Green will start at running back, while Jordan Lovett and Damien Taylor are both listed as the No. 2 back. Head coach Gerad Parker has said Troy will utilize a “running back by committee” backfield this season.

At Troy’s three starting receiver positions, Landon Parker and Zeriah Beason are both listed as starters at X, Peyton Higgins is the starter at H and Devonte Ross will start at Z. DJ Epps is the primary backup at H and Mojo Dortch will serve as the primary backup at Z. At tight end, Ethan Conner will get the start with Brody Dalton as the primary backup.

Both Enterprise native Jamel Fils-Amie and Kam Curry are listed as co-starters at nose tackle.

Troy’s starting inside linebackers will be Jordan Stringer and Brendan Jackson, while both Phillip Lee and Jah-Mal Williams are listed as starters at bandit. At spear, Northern Illinois transfer Devin Lafayette will get the start.

The defensive backfield will feature all brand new starters with LG Green and Demaje Yancey getting the start at cornerback. Florida A&M transfer Ian Conerly-Goodly gets the starting nod at free safety, while Justin Powe will start at strong safety. Powe, a former walk-on, was rewarded with a scholarship earlier in fall camp.

Troy native – and All-Sun Belt kicker – Scott Taylor Renfroe is back as the starter at place kicker, while Nick Troemel will handle kickoff duties. Robert Cole will get the nod as the No. 1 punter ahead of former All-Sun Belt Coastal Carolina transfer Evan Crenshaw.
