Brundidge council awards contracts for sewer improvement

The Brundidge City Council met at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Brundidge City Hall and worked from a three-item agenda that included the awarding of bids for the North Industrial Park Sewer improvements.
Brundidge City Manager Willie Wright said the bids for the North Industrial Park Sewer improvements have been analyzed and tabulated and best bid was submitted by K&L Contracting Company, Inc. in the total amount of $495, 583,
Wright said the engineer has determined that L&K Contracting Company is properly licensed and is fully qualified to perform all services required in connection with the contract for the project.
The council voted to award the North Industrial Park Sewer contract to L&K Contracting Company in the bid amount of $495,583,00 and authorized Mayor Isabell Boyd to execute the contract.
Brundidge City Clerk Linda Faust said Troy Bank & Trust and South Alabama Electric Cooperative have joined together in support of the City of Brundidge through the Growing Alabama Tax Credit program. The two local businesses contributed a total of $473,275 allowed by the State of Alabama through the program. These funds will provide infrastructure to the city’s North Industrial Park.
Faust reviewed FY2024 Budget Amendment #2 with Mayor Boyd and the board. After consideration, the board approved FY2024 Budget Amendment #2.
The Brundidge City Council meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at Brundidge City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
