The Brundidge Rotary Club welcomed Troy Regional Medical Center’s John Graham, administrator of hospital operations, and Jennifer Scipione, the new laboratory director at Troy Regional, to its Wednesday meeting at the Historic Bass House.
Graham has more than 30 years of experience in lab operations and physician clinic operations.
In introducing Scipione, Graham said she is an excellent hire for Troy Regional and the lab will be in qualified and caring hands.
Scipione comes to Troy via of New York. She worked in the tri-state area of New York/New Jersey/Connecticut and, in a hospital in each state.
Her last position was at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut. However, she does have family in sunny Florida.
“And, what’s the winter weather like in Alabama,” Scipione laughingly, asked a group of Rotarians.
Troy Regional’s new laboratory director, said she has been warmly welcomed to the hospital, and looks forward to being a part of the hospital family and the extended Troy community.
Rotarian Dixie Shehane said she found it interesting that Scipione has worked in veterinary medicine labs as well as in human labs.
“She said lab work is more detailed when working with animals because they are different species while humans are basically the same,” Shehane said. “I have no doubt that she will be assent to Troy Regional and to all those she works with and all those she serves.”
Rotarian Chip Wallace said he was proud to have an opportunity to meet Scipione and to know more about her.
“When you have lab work done, it’s good to know that everything is being done just right,” Wallace said. “After having met Jennifer Scipione, we can all be assured that the work being done at the lab at TRMC is in good hands and is being done right.”
