Pike Lib, CHHS and Pike County earn volleyball wins

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots, Pike County Lady Bulldogs and Charles Henderson Lady Trojans all earned recent volleyball wins.
Pike Lib knocked off the Carroll Lady Eagles by a score of 3-1 Sept. 9. Pike won the first set 25-13 but lost 26-24 to tie the things up in the second set. The Lady Pats then swept the next two sets, 25-15 and 25-17, to take the match.
Anna Cate Friday led Pike with 14 kills and five aces, while Julianne Meyer tallied 11 kills and Camryn Brown earned seven kills, one ace and 14 digs. Alissa Barron totaled five kills, three aces and 14 digs. Haylie Brown earned 13 digs and Emma Baker tallied two blocks and two kills.
Pike County defeated Abbeville by a score of 3-1 on Sept. 3. Abbeville won the first set 25-22 but Pike County swept the next three by a score of 25-11, 25-14 and 27-25. Hailey Griffin earned 23 serving points, seven aces, four blocks and three kills, while Tamieja Taylor tallied seven serving points, six blocks and three kills.
The Pike County junior varsity swept Abbeville 2-0. Emma Garrett earned 11serving points, while Zohee Lucy totaled seven serving points.
Charles Henderson fell by a score of 3-1 to Elba on Sept. 9. Elba won the first set 25-15 and the second set 25-22. Charles Henderson won the third set 25-13 but dropped the fourth set by a score of 25-5. Jordan Owens led CHHS with 12 kills and 18 digs, while Abby Key tallied three kills, four aces and 12 digs. Kahdyn Bivin earned two kills and seven digs.
Charles Henderson defeated Highland Home on Sept. 5 by a score of 3-0 with CHHS winning all three sets 25-17, 25-22 and 25-18. Owens earned 13 kills and seven digs, while Key earned 11 kills and four digs. Katie Sparrow totaled three kills and one ace, while Bivin earned three kills and one dig. Sinai Sanchez earned 26 assists, one ace and one dig.
