Troy Volleyball sweeps Alabama State

The Troy Trojans (3-3) picked up a volleyball win on Tuesday, sweeping the Alabama State Hornets (3-4) by a score of 3-0.

Troy defeated Alabama State 25-13, 25-19 and 25-10 in all three sets. Tori Hester led the Trojans with 12 kills, five aces and nine digs, while Amiah Butler earned 11 kills, two aces and four digs. Janelle Stuempfig dished out 12 assists with two kills, while Jordan Sinness earned 17 assists and three aces. Jaci Mesa earned nine digs.

“We stayed really composed tonight and got good offensive contributions across the board, Troy coach Josh Lauer said. “I thought that our serving tonight was the difference. We were really dynamite from the service line, and that put a lot of pressure on them. That was the difference in the match.”
