The Troy Police Department is actively investigating a threat made against a local school over the weekend via social media.

Following a swift response, officers have charged a juvenile with making a terrorist threat in the second degree. The juvenile has been placed in the Troy Police Department’s Short Term Juvenile Detention Facility, where they are currently awaiting further action.

Due to timely information provided to law enforcement, officers were able to act quickly and ensure the safety of the school community.

The Troy Police Department is collaborating closely with the Troy City School System to thoroughly investigate the situation.

Currently, there is no known active threat to any schools in the area.
