Troy University’s Greg Price earns top 10 finish in 2024 Oncon Icon Technology Professional of the Year Awards

Dr. Greg Price, Troy University’s Chief Technology and Security Officer, has achieved a top ten finish in the prestigious 2024 Oncon Icon Technology Professional of the Year Awards. This recognition places him among the elite IT professionals worldwide, underscoring his substantial contributions to the field of technology and cybersecurity.

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, including 27 years at Troy University, Dr. Price has been instrumental in driving innovation and excellence within the IT sector. Holding 11 industry certifications, and being a licensed engineer in two fields, Dr. Price has also secured three technology patents and authored seven influential books on technology and cybersecurity.

Dr. Price’s leadership has not only been recognized by this recent accolade but also through numerous awards and honors over the years. He was previously named one of the top 100 IT Technologists by ComputerWorld and led Troy University’s cybersecurity team to national recognition. His efforts have significantly advanced the university’s standing in the national and international technology communities.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Price is committed to social responsibility, having founded the Alabama Digital Forensics Institute and the Alabama Cyberkids Awareness Program. His dedication extends into his personal life where he has raised over $3 million for children’s hospitals through his participation in ultra-endurance running events.
