Pike Lib thrashes Barbour County in region road game

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots (4-1, 2-1) picked up a Class 2A, Region 3 win on Friday night 61-12 over the Barbour County Jaguars (0-3, 0-2) on the road.

Pike amassed 436 yards of offense in the win, rolling up 267 yards on the ground and 169 yards through the air. The Pike defense held Barbour County to just 135 total yards, all on the ground.

Pike jumped out to a 35-0 lead in the first quarter with Dawson Bradford tossing a 37-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Mitchell, Jackson Bowen returning a fumble for a score and Dalton Jordan scoring on runs of 3, 30 and 5 yards. Bradford threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Sawyer Keck in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Jordan scored his fourth rushing touchdown on a 6-yard run. In the fourth, Bradford threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Keck and Mitchell returned a kickoff 85 yards for the final touchdown of the game.

Jordan rushed for 131 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries, while Bradford completed 8-of-11 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Keck caught three passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, Nathan Jefcoat led the way with seven tackles, while Tripp Royal earned three tackles.
