Troy PD investigating multiple shots fired calls on Sept. 22

The Troy Police Department is investigating multiple shots fired calls that occurred in different locations in Troy during the early morning hours of Sept. 22.

At approximately 12:12 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 231 in Troy. Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd, with several individuals and vehicles leaving the scene.

Shortly afterward, officers were dispatched to another large gathering in the 1000 block of Park Street in Troy. While officers were attempting to disperse the crowd, several shots were fired, resulting in damage to both a vehicle and a residence.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of anyone injured in either incident. Both incidents are currently under investigation by TPD. Authorities noted that large crowds were present in both locations at the time of the shootings, Troy PD urges anyone with information regarding these events to contact Troy PD via the Secret Witness Line at, (334) 566-5555 or by E-mail, at police@pd.troyal.gov

Troy PD is receiving assistance in these investigations from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Troy University Police Department.
