On Monday, the Ariton Lady Purple Cats earned a 3-0 sweep over the Goshen Lady Eagles in a non-area match.

Ariton won all three sets 25-7, 25-13 and 25-23. Sarah Turvey led Ariton with six aces and four kills, while Nya Allen earned four kills and one ace. Audrey Ezell also tallied four kills.

For Goshen, Annabell Granados earned eight kills, one assist, one block and one dig, while Laila Hussey tallied one ace, one kill, 14 assists and three digs. Alyssa Sparks chipped in with five kills and three digs, while Alyssa Pippen totaled two aces, five kills and 16 digs. Anicka Almine earned 14 digs.

Also, Goshen fell 3-1 to the Kinston Lady Bulldogs on Sept. 19. Kinston won the first set 25-23 but Goshen tied things up with a 25-18 win in the second set. The Lady Bulldogs won the next two sets 25-21 and 25-19 to take the match.

Pippen led Goshen with 18 kills, two aces and 20 digs. Sparks added five aces, six kills and 17 digs, while Hussey tallied one ace, one kill, 29 assists and five digs. Granados also earned eight kills and one ace.
