Area schools to be closed Sept. 26 due to weather threats

Due to the threat of inclement weather a number of schools in The Messenger’s coverage area will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Troy City Schools will have a virtual day on Sept. 26 and all after school activities are cancelled. This includes Charles Henderson High School, Charles Henderson Middle School, Troy Elementary School and Troy-Pike Center for Technology. School will also delay by one hour on Friday, Sept. 27.

Pike Liberal Arts School will also be closed on Sept. 26. Currently, all events planned for Sept. 27 will remain on schedule.

New Life Christian Academy in Troy will be closed on Sept. 26 and will delay opening one hour on Sept. 27.

Covenant Christian School in Troy will be closed Sept. 26 and will delay opening one hour on Sept. 27. The school day on Sept. 27 will begin at 9 a.m.

Share My World Academy in Troy will be closed on Sept. 26.

Pike County Schools will be closed on Sept. 26. This includes Pike County Elementary School, Goshen Elementary School, Banks School, Pike County High School, Troy-Pike Center for Technology and Goshen High School.

Ariton School will be closed on Sept. 26 and will delay beginning the day two hours on Sept. 27. All extracurricular activities for Sept. 26 have been cancelled. This also includes all other schools in the Dale County Schools system, including Carroll High School, Dale County High School, South Dale Middle School, GW Long Elementary School, GW Long High School, Midland Elementary School and Newton Elementary School.

Zion Chapel School will also be closed on Sept. 26 and will resume a normal schedule on Sept. 27. This also includes all other schools in the Coffee County Schools system, including New Brockton Elementary School, New Brockton High School and Kinston School
