Troy University Athletic Director Brent Jones announced on Wednesday that the athletic department had received a $500,000 naming rights commitment for the Troy Football locker room located in the North End Zone Facility.

Moving forward, the locker room will be named after former Trojan Kyle Cox and his family.

“Attending Troy University gave me the incredible opportunity to earn a degree from a remarkable institution while playing the sport I love,” Cox said. “Now, it’s my turn to give back and invest in the future of Troy Football. When I reflect upon what Troy has meant to me over the years, I’m filled with pride and excited to be a part of its continued success.”

Cox is a Troy University alum and was a team captain on the Troy Football team in the 1990s. He earned the Clements Award in 1992, which goes annually to the male-student athlete with the highest overall GPA. Cox is the founder and CEO of Blindster, one of the largest retailers of custom window treatments in the country. He founded the company in 2010.

“Kyle Cox has left an incredible legacy on the Troy University football program, and we are honored to have the locker room named after him and his wonderful family,” Jones said. “Kyle was not only a great player for the Trojans but also became a very successful businessman who revolutionized an industry.”

Earlier this week, Troy also received a $1 million commitment gift towards the construction of a new indoor practice facility.
