Former Trojan Carlton Martial earns All-Star honors in Finland

Recently, former Troy Trojan Carlton Martial was named an All-Star for the Maple League in Finland.
Martial was signed by the Kuopio Steelers earlier this year to play professionally for the team in the Maple League, Finland’s top professional football league. Martial helped lead the Steelers to the Maple League Semifinals before falling to the Seinajoki Crocodiles in the playoffs. Martial recorded 17 tackles, one tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery in the semifinals.
During the regular season, Martial recorded 82 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, one sack, one pass breakup, two interceptions and a fumble recovery despite missing three games.
The Steelers are a professional football team located in Kuopio, Finland that has been in existence since 1991.
Martial left Troy as one of the most decorated players in school history and as the all-time leading tackler in NCAA Division I history. Martial is a three-time All-American, four-time All-Sun Belt performer, two-time Burlsworth Trophy Finalist, 2022 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and both the Troy Messenger Male Trojan of the Year in 2022 and the Sun Belt Male Athlete of the Year in 2023.
Martial ended his Troy career with a staggering 577 total tackles, 50.5 tackles-for-loss, six interceptions, eight forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown.
