“Sam worked as patrol deputy until he was promoted to Lieutenant in Investigations where he solved numerous felony cases, including capital murder,” Thomas said. “In 2020 Sam was promoted to captain, where his duties included overseeing the daily operations of the Pike County Jail and the Civil Process Division.”

During his 32 years with the Pike County Sheriff Office, Mallory had numerous positions.

“While on patrol Sam served Troy with civil process, evictions, subpoenas and warrants,” Thomas said. “His ability to communicate and become familiar with the people created an invaluable resource for the sheriff’s office. Sam gained the trust of the people he interacted with daily.”

Thomas said Mallory’s dedication to the Pike County Sheriff’s office will be greatly missed.

“Sam has been a great asset to this office and we will be forever grateful for the time he devoted for the betterment of the county.”
