The Southeastern Mvskoke Nation Creek Friend’s Festival on Saturday at its tribal land near Springhill was a great success. A large number of “Friends” participated in the Grand Entry and the activities and events that followed.
Michelle Gilmore, Tribal Chief, expressed appreciation to the “friends” who participated in the many activities of the day and those who attended the day’s events to know more and learn more.
“Woodmen of the World” in Troy was one of the sponsors of the first Southeastern Mvskoke Nation Creek Friend’s Festival in this area. Charles Windham and Kim May were on site for the day’s activities.
Windham said “Woodmen of the World” was proud to have the opportunity to be a part of the first Creek Friend’s Festival in this area and looks forward to future events.
“Saturday was a perfect day to be in the peaceful, wooded tribal lands and to experience so much of their culture through native dancers, ax throwing, wood flutes and native artisans,” May said. “I am looking forward to other opportunities to learn more and know more.”
