Pike Lib, Ariton gear up for 2A Regional Volleyball Tournament

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots and Ariton Lady Purple Cats are heading to Montgomery this week to compete in the Class 2A South Regional Volleyball Tournament.

Pike Lib is going into the tournament as the Area 3 Champion after beating Luverne in the Area Championship last week. In the first round, Pike Lib will face off against Isabella at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 23. Isabella is the Area 6 runner-up after beating Greene County in the semifinals before losing to Tuscaloosa Academy in the finals.

Meanwhile, Ariton enters the tournament as the Area 4 runner-up. Ariton beat Abbeville in the Area Semifinals before losing to GW Long in the finals. Ariton will play Highland Home in the first round of the regional tournament on Oct. 23 at 10:15 a.m. Highland Home is the Area 5 Champion after beating Calhoun in the finals last week.

The regional tournament will take place at the Cramton Bowl MultiPlex in Montgomery. Both the first round and quarterfinals will take place on Oct. 23 with the semifinals on Oct. 24 and finals on Oct. 25.
