Two people are in custody for the fatal shooting of a Troy man in 2021.
Troy Police Chief Danny Barron said authorities apprehended Zy’kayedria Ka’shay Thompkins, 23, and Jahunter Imorriss Johnson, 22, both of Phenix City, on Nov. 5. They were charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Zacharias Devonta McLendon, which occurred on November 14, 2021.
Barron said both Thompkins and Johnson have been indicted on three charges, one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. They were arrested in Phenix City and transported to the Troy City Jail for processing before being transferred to the Pike County Jail, where they are awaiting bond, Barron said.
Barron said the Troy Police Department would like to recognize the Criminal Investigation Division, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, and the Department of Forensic Science for their hard work and assistance in this investigation.
