This week, the brother of a Troy pitcher committed to play college baseball at Troy University when Baylor High School’s Matt Dill announced his commitment.

Dill is the brother of current Troy Trojan pitcher Jay Dill. Matt Dill is an incoming senior infielder and pitcher for Baylor High School in Dayton, Tenn. Dill earned All-Region honors as a junior in 2024. He earned a .258 batting average with 28 runs, 14 RBIs, two doubles and a home run last season along with holding a .919 fielding percentage with 47 putouts, 32 assists and nine double plays. He also earned a 2.63 ERA with 16 strikeouts in 13 and 1/3 innings pitched.

“I decided to commit to Troy because of the coaching staff and from the things my brother, Jay, has told me about what it’s like to play there,” Dill told The Messenger. “I also got to go to a lot of games last year, too, and decided that’s where I wanted to play college ball,.”
