Charles Henderson opens hoops season

The Charles Henderson Trojans and Lady Trojans opened up the 2024-2025 basketball season on Thursday night at Pike Road.
The boys team picked up an exciting 55-53 win over the Patriots. After leading 11-7 in the first quarter, Pike Road rallied to take a 23-18 lead into halftime. Pike Road led 38-32 going into the fourth quarter but the Trojans outscored Pike 23-15 in the final period.
With just four seconds remaining, CHHS held a 54-53 lead as Damien Williams was sent to the foul line. Williams knocked down 1-of-2 free throws to give CHHS the 55-53 lead and Pike Road was unable get a shot off in time securing the Trojan win.
The Lady Trojans dropped a 56-30 loss to Pike Road. Reaghan Worley led the Lady Trojans with 11 points, while both Harmony Hubbard and Rylan Mitchell scored eight points each.
The junior varsity Trojans also picked up a 43-26 win over Pike Road on Thursday.
Charles Henderson is back on the road on Nov. 15 against Class 7A Dothan.
