The Goshen Eagles (8-2) knocked off the Washington County Bulldogs (6-5) by a score of 55-22 at home in the first round of the Class 2A State Playoffs on Friday.

The game marked Goshen’s first home playoff game in the first round of the playoffs since 2019 and it was the Eagles’ most lopsided playoff win since winning 36-0 in the first round in 2019. The 55 points was also the third most points scored in the playoffs by a Goshen team in school history.

“Coming out we wanted to be physical and we wanted to play four full quarters and I think our guys rose to that challenge, especially in the first half with our starters in,” Goshen Coach Don Moore said. “What’s good is these guys have done it for a long time and they came out here expecting to win and they weren’t going to accept anything less.”
