Randy Ross, Pike County Veterans Affairs officer, said veterans will have the opportunity to have photos taken with a special backdrop to commemorate the occasion.

Ross expressed appreciation to the City of Troy’s planning committee including Sheila Jackson, Katherine Jordan and Willie Williams for planning the Veterans Day Breakfast.

“The last time we had a veterans’ breakfast was in 2019 and it is an honor to, once again, honor our veterans in this way,” Ross said. “We invite our service men and women to come so we can say a special ‘thank you’ to our  heroes as we celebrate living in the greatest land of all … the USA.”

American Legion Post 70 in Troy will host a Veterans Day Program at 11 a.m.  Monday at Bicentennial Park.

The program will be conducted by Post Commander Bob McLendon.

Special music will be presented by Brooklyn Moran, a student at Charles Henderson High School.

“Everyone is invited to be a part of showing our support of and appreciation for our veterans,” McLendon said.  “We owe them our freedom. What can be more import than that?”
