Troy Mayor Jason A. Reeves has declared the month of November 2024 as National Hospice Month in the City of Troy.
In making the declaration, Reeves said, for more than 40 years, hospice has helped provide comfort and dignity to millions of people, allowing them to spend their final months at home, surrounded by their loved one.
“Beyond providing physical treatment, hospice attends to the patient’s emotional, spiritual and family needs,” Reeves said. “The central philosophy of hospice care puts patients first, ensuring a person-centered approach to care, protecting patient choice and access to individualized services based on a patient’s unique care needs and wishes.
Gentiva Hospice Services, the National Association for Home, Health Care & Hospice and thousands of hospice care agencies across the United States have declared the month of November 2024 as National Hospice Care Month.
Reeves has proclaimed November as 2024 National Hospice Care Month in the City of Troy and encourages the support and participation of all citizens in learning more about the hospice concepts and activities that promote awareness of the important role of hospice care.
