Troy native Brandon McClure is putting on his annual Christmas event at Charles Henderson High School this year, The Joyous Sounds of Hope, with special guest Kirk Jay of “The Voice” on Dec. 14.
McClure has been putting on a special Christmas event in Troy for the past decade.
“I love putting things together and I like to see people excited, especially after the times with COVID and everything,” McClure said. “To bring people back out again and be able to fellowship again is great. I just like the fellowship with people, all people from all walks of life to come out together and hear good music.”
Kirk, who is a music minister at multiple local churches in Troy, said he changed the original name for his annual event after COVID.
“I changed the name from Holiday Christmas to the Joyous Sounds of Hope because we’re giving people hope to come back together,” he said. “People didn’t think we would be able to come back together after COVID with people getting sick and dying and everything.”
Jay is a Bay Minette native that starred in the 15th season of hit TV series “The Voice.” He finished in third place during that season and will be releasing his debut album “Moving Forward” later this month.
Along with Jay performing at the event, local church choirs and singers will also be performing. The concert takes place Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. in the cafetorium at Charles Henderson High School.
VIP tickets are available for $50, which includes a “swag bag,” a 5×7 picture with Kirk Jay and close-up seating. Advanced general admission tickets are $20 and will be $30 at the door. To order tickets, visit https://brandonchristmasconcert.simpletix.com/.
