Area Hoops: Charles Henderson bests Highland Home

The Charles Henderson Trojans picked up a 61-36 win over the Highland Home Flying Squadron on Monday night.
Kamryn Christian led CHHS with 14 points in the win, while Jydarien Burney added nine points and Tyler Cross scored eight points. Cross, a sophomore, earned a scholarship offer from Stephen F. Austin University on Monday, as well. Cross is the youngest son of Troy Basketball coach Scott Cross. His brother, Austin, is currently a freshman on the Troy Basketball team.
The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans also picked up a 38-34 win over Highland Home on Monday. Jasmine Foster led CHHS with 18 points, while Reaghan Worley scored nine and Kamari Stroizer scored eight points.
The Ariton Purple Cats came from nearly 20 points down against Dale County to win 54-53 on Monday. Easton Kilpatrick knocked down a pair of free throws late in the game to lift the Cats to the win. Kilpatrick and Addison Senn scored 10 points each in the win, while Titus Senn added nine points and seven rebounds. Pierce Gill scored six points with 11 rebounds and six steals.
The Ariton Lady Cats also beat Dale County 42-39. Nya Allen led the Lady Cats with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Lizzy Woodfaulk added seven points.
The Zion Chapel Rebels beat Wicksburg by a score of 48-45. Brodie Stinson led Zion Chapel with 16 points, while Joseph LeGear scored 13 points and John Foster Hamm added 10 points.
The Zion Chapel Lady Rebels lost 50-7 to Wicksburg, as well.
