Old Time Christmas at Pioneer Museum

The Pioneer Museum of Alabama in Troy will host Ole Time Christmas from 6 until 8 pm. Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14.
Everyone is invited to step back in time and enjoy Christmas in much the same way as Alabama pioneers celebrated the Christmas season on December 13 and 14.
Barbara Tatom, museum director, said Old Time Christmas will feature demonstrations, activities and appearances.
A very special event will be the reading of “The Night Before Christmas”at 6:45 p.m. and followed by “Cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
“Cooking on a wood-burning stove and on a hearth will be”tasty” demonstrations.”
Kids First Pediatrics will sponsor a Smores campfire,” Tatom said. “And what could be more fun than roasting marshmallows over a fire on a cold winter’s night? Cookies and cider while listening to the General Storekeep share Stories told and the potbellied stoves and how Santa always stopped by the General Store to warm his head and hands and treat his reindeer as they continued the take toys to good little boys and girls.”
Children will have the fun of coloring Christmas trees, toys and Santa and his reindeer and writing letters to Santa.
The kids will have the opportunity make hands-on bird feed to take him and a hands-on-Yo Yo Christmas Tree.
On Friday, Ole Time Christmas will feature Live Music by Lenny Trawick and, on Saturday, the music will be by the Usual Suspects Jazz Band.
Tatom said everyone is invited back the an Ole Time Christmas Friday and Saturday nights at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama.
Admission is $10 adults; $9 for seniors and over and military; students $8; Children 5 and under free and members of the Pioneer Museum of Alabama; free.
