On Tuesday, the brackets for the 2024 Downtown Dothan Hoops Classic were revealed along with Charles Henderson’s first round opponent.

The Charles Henderson Trojans will play Georgiana in the opening round on Dec. 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the Dothan Civic Center. The winner of that game will play the winner of Dothan vs. Abbeville on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Other first round matchups feature Providence Christian vs. Geneva, Rehobeth vs. Geneva County, Northside Methodist vs. Headland, Eufaula vs. Ashford, Wicksburg taking on Carroll and Dale County facing Houston Academy.

All first round games will take place Dec. 26-27 and quarterfinals games will occur on Dec. 28. The semifinals will occur on Dec. 30 and both the championship game and consolation game will take place on Dec. 31. All games will be played at the Dothan Civic Center in downtown Dothan.

Money is raised for the tournament through sponsorships, ticket sales and concessions with the revenue made – minus expenses – being donated to the competing schools in the tournament. The money from the tournament is divided up based on how many games each team plays.

Tickets for the tournament are $12 each day. The Dothan Civic Center is a cashless venue and cash will not be accepted for concessions or tickets. Credit and debit cards and mobile payments are accepted.
