Time is ticking down to “Ole Time Christmas “at the Pioneer Museum of Alabama on Friday and Saturday nights.

From 6 until 8 p.m., the museum will offer unique and memorable ways to experience the joy of Christmas, said Barbara Tatom, museum director.

Ole Time Christmas is an opportunity for families to experience Christmas as it was when the pioneers were shaping the place we now know as Alabama.

“At 6:45, people of all ages will enjoy the reading of ‘The Night Before the Christmas,’ with Santa and Mrs. Claus,” Tatom said. “That’s a story that sets the stage for the activities that have been planned especially for Ole Time Christmas 2024.
Many of the kids will be introduced to a wood-burning stove and hearth cooking. Kids Frist Pediatrics will invite them out into the Christmas weather to enjoy roasting marshmallows over a campfire.

The general storekeeper will invite the kids into the general store for cookies and coder, which is the official Christmas drink.

“Ole Time Christmas 2024 “will offer opportunities for kids to color pictures of seasonal things, make a bird feeder and a Yoyo Christmas Tree.

And, as always, Christmas is music. On Friday night, Lenny Trawick will provide music in the museum village and the Usual Suspects Jazz Band will entertain on Saturday night.
