Christmas is hustle and bustle time but, often, there is an opportunity to slow down and enjoy the season in a quiet and meaningful way.
The Johnson Center for the Arts in downtown Troy has found new and creative ways to enjoy the Christmas holidays with family and friends, said Andrea Pack, JCA executive director.
On Wednesday, December 18, a highly-anticipated community Christmas event will begin at the Johnson Center for the Arts. at 5 p.m. with cookies, milk and hot cocoa as well as an optional art project for kids and adults alike.
“Santa himself will drop in for photos at 5:30 and at 6 p.m. and we will announce the winner of our Tree Extravaganza and have the opportunity to enjoy the Banks Primary School Chorus, directed by Henry Everett.”
The chorus will conclude the evening with several well-known carols for the entire group.
“We welcome all friends of the Johnson Center to grab their families or come out on your own to enjoy a good old fashioned Christmas gathering around the piano,” Pack said. “And to enjoy the student- decorated trees and a collection of nutcrackers. We love that the holidays provide so many opportunities to participate in the arts. We are looking forward to sharing this special time with our community.”
