After historic triple-double, Troy’s Shaulana Wagner earns Sun Belt Player of the Week

On Tuesday, Troy Trojans guard Shaulana Wagner was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after her historic performance on Saturday.

Wagner became the first Trojan in Troy’s Division I history to record a triple-double in a game when she tallied 12 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

“‘Wag’ is playing great basketball and elevating her team in so many ways,” head coach Chanda Rigby said. “Not many people can do what she is doing on the court right now. She is doing special things, and I’m happy she is receiving this special award.”

Wagner is the first Trojan to be named SBC Player of the Week this season. Wagner is currently averaging 9.5 points, six rebounds, 5.8 assists and one steal per game. Wagner leads the Sun Belt in assists and assists per game.

Wagner and Troy play Toledo in the Cherokee Tournament in North Carolina on Dec. 18.
